Broadcasting 4-Year Plan
Follow this plan to stay on track and graduate on time. If you have any questions about which classes you should take, talk to your advisor.
This 4-year plan is for students who entered the broadcasting program during or after summer 2016. If you started earlier than summer 2016, visit the online catalog to find the 4-year plan that corresponds with the year you started the program.
Freshman Year
- UNIV 100 - First Year Seminar
- CMCN 170 - Media and Society
- ENGL 101 - Introduction to Academic Writing
- ENGL 102 - Writing and Research About Culture

MATH 102 - Quantitative Reasoning or both MATH 103 - Applied College Algebra Fundamentals and MATH 104 - Applied College Algebra Fundamentals Practicum
- MATH 104 must be taken with MATH 103 but does not count toward the 124 total credit hours required for this degree.
- MODL 101 (choose from French, Spanish, or German)
- MODL 102 (must choose the same language as you took for MODL 101)

Science electives (6 credit hours/2 courses).
- For your degree, you'll be required to take three science electives. Two must be from the same science; at least one must be from both the biological sciences (BIOL, ENVS 150) and from the physical sciences (PHYS, CHEM, BIOL).

- Behavioral Science elective. Choose a 300- or 400-level course in ANTH, ECON, GEOG, POLS, PSYC, SOCI, or CJUS.
- Minor courses (6 credit hours/2 courses). It is recommended that you choose a minor in English, history, modern languages, or a single behavioral science.
Senior Year
